Knitting Trends & Statement Knits

Statement Knits

Sweaters needn’t be boring!
Go bold with your knits.

What is a Jacquard?

Jacquard is a term originally from weaving. To simplify, it is the combining of two or more colors together by knitting one color either to the front or to the back of the fabric so to create a visual pattern.

Jacquard knit pattern designs are incorporated into the weave. It can be either single or double knit and features a distinct pattern on the face, ranging from intricate designs reminiscent of traditional brocade to simple and understated motifs. Single knit jacquard fabrics include a unique look on the reverse.

Single-jersey Jacquard

The single-jersey Jacquard in knit and miss stitches give a clear stitch definition, also found in Fair Isle knitwear designs. The floats reduce the lateral extensibility of the knitwear to some extent.

Float Jacquard

Double Jacquard

To overcome the problems of the floats in single jacquard, the rib jacquard, has one set of the needles knit the backing loops.

All-over iconic graphic

Add novelty to your collection by changing the scale for a supersized graphic impact or mix them together with completely different designs. Play with placement all-over the sweater for an on-trend direction.

Playful twist for classic patterns

Imagination is key to reinvigorating classic patterns such as the Fair Isle or Geo patterns. Enlarging patterns and playful graphics or even utilizing hyper-bright colors could evolve the whole design.
